Business Facilities published its 12th annual rankings report—a comprehensive analysis of states, metro and global areas leading the way when it comes to the benchmarks for sustainable growth. Virginia ranked in the top 10 for three notable categories. The Commonwealth was named the No. 9 best state for business climate—a competitive feat with half the list made up of southeastern states. Virginia came in at No. 7 for workforce training leaders—another list dominated by the Southeast—with much of the success attributed to the Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP). As always, the Port of Virginia heavily contributed to the Commonwealth’s top-10 ranking for best infrastructure.
