Introducing the Virginia Incentives Website

In 2014, the General Assembly directed VEDP, in partnership with eight other state agencies, to create a report on Virginia’s 17 economic development incentive programs. After producing the second “Effectiveness of Economic Development Incentive Grant Programs Administered by the Commonwealth of Virginia” report in 2015, the group decided to develop a website to share this information.

The Virginia Incentives site is designed to let users see which companies have received incentives through the state’s economic development programs. The site’s main feature, an interactive map, produces information by program, agency, company and year. In addition, users can read up on each of the 17 programs and view examples of notable projects.

VEDP is proud to be part of this collaborative information-sharing effort with the Center for Innovative Technology, the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development, the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation, the Virginia Department of Transportation, the Port of Virginia, the Virginia Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission and the Virginia Tourism Corporation.
